About Bakes Brewing Company
Jeff Baker, the founder of Bakes Brewing Company, was born and raised in Wall Township, New Jersey, and still resides there. Before opening its tasting room location on Route 71 in Wall, the Bakes Brewing Company operated out of Jeff’s home garage and basement. For a while, the only way to enjoy Bakes’ brews was through limited can releases. Jeff’s passion for craft beer ultimately led to opening a location where Bakes Brew fans and beer enthusiasts could finally enjoy beers in an industrial-chic brewhouse and tap room. The immaculate and spacious location — which celebrated its grand opening on December 30th, 2023 — is super family-friendly and is a great space for meeting up with coworkers, having a girls’ night out, meeting up with your friends and their kids, or hosting a private party. When the weather is warm, Bakes’ outdoor patio will be a prime spot to enjoy its selection of beers with friends and family.

At the moment, Bakes Brewing Company has a limited selection of beer on tap but plans to add more beer styles to its menu over time. Guests can enjoy the “Bob”, which is a Pale Kellerbier brewed with pilsner malt and German hops, named after Bakes’ late grandfather, or an “Alberts Pond” which is an IPA brewed with Citra, Nectaron, and Galaxy hops. The “Sonetronics” is a Double IPA brewed with Citra that pays homage to the previous operator of the Bakes Brewing Co. building. For some Wall Township history, Sonetronics, Inc. designed and manufactured military equipment in the current Bakes Brewing Company space since its establishment in 1961. A shout-out to the locals comes from the “Belmar Blvd” which is a double IPA highlighting Nelson Sauvin hops sourced from Freestyle Hops, a hop grower in New Zealand. The “71 Stout: Chocolate – Coffee Stout” has roasted Ecuadorian cacao nibs and coffee from the local coffee shop and Bakes’ neighbor, Turnstile Coffee Roasters.
Planning a Visit
While Bakes sometimes hosts pop-up events and food trucks, the brewery encourages guests to bring in food or have it delivered to the brewery. There is no shortage of delicious food options in Wall and surrounding towns, such as Belmar and Spring Lake. AG recommends grabbing to-go or ordering delivery from Kaya’s Kitchen, Windmill, Jersey Mikes, Surf Taco, Fins, and Hoagitos, which are all close by.
Kids are welcome to the brewery under adult supervision. Bakes has a special kids play area to keep them occupied inside the tasting room by the cornhole boards. Only service animals are allowed in Bakes Brewing Co.

Bakes Brewing Co. has a free parking lot on-site that can fill up quickly. Bakes encourages ride-sharing, walking, or biking to the brewery, if possible. Parking is prohibited in the commercial parking lot across from Bakes, as well as on Walling Avenue from Route 71 to the Bakes driveway exit. Cars parked there will be towed.
